Moscow Open 2011, Level III. Russian IPSC in action.

Tags: Matches

The match "Moscow Open 2011" was an exciting experience. Stages were interesting, an atmosphere was very friendly. And there was great afterparty you can't even imagine. Beside this, we've got rare opportunity to compete with European champs and "World Shoot 2011" best shooters. Big thanks to SC "Object" and personally to Andrey Fjodorov (match designer and MD) and Svetlana Nikolaeva for great shooting weekend.

After match I had a little chat with Frank Garcia (USA), which trained us this summer in Finland. And talked with Rolf-Dieter Reich (Switzerland), which even remember my name since "3 Koenig 2011" match! Meet with Julie Golob Goloski (USA) in person. She did very well. You should take into consideration huge time difference between Russia and USA. It was hard challenge for her to shoot as at late night time, I'm pretty sure. But she is really great professional.

There were 18 stages in total shot in two days (12+6). I haven't had real possibility to take much video with top-shooters, because of own shooting. But several samples of really good work of stars are here.

My own results are OK: 26-th place with 71% from Eduardo de Cobos (Spain). I must practice more.

From here I'm simple list stages with video and a brief description when it needed.

Stage 9. Storm.

Stage 10. Pull and Roll. Reduced IPSC targets, one-hand shooting. Very difficult as for me.

Stage 11. Labyrinth.

Stage 12. Range.

Stage 13. Gordian Knot.

Stage 14. Harry Potter.

Stage 15. Karlsson. Each paper needed only one shot. But this didn't reduce difficulty of the task.

Stage 16. Bastion.

Stage 17. Corner.

Stage 18. Machine Gun. How it should be done (supersquad performance).

Laetitia Daguenel, France. Very fast shooter. I usually following all her videos, but I didn't even expect she's so fast.

Eduardo de Cobos, Spain. Meteor-man.

Nikolaeva Svetlana, Russia.

Julie Golob Goloski, USA.

Rolf-Dieter Reich, Switzerland. Another style. "Slow" smooth movements, but, OMG, what a shooting speed!

Stage 3. Devilishly Fast.

Stage 4. Humpty-Dumpty.

Stage 5. Steps. Alexey Pichugin, Russia.

Stage 7. Death Stars. Start position: feets on the floor (full contact), hands must touch marks on the floor. Several DQ were issued on the match for gun falling on the floor after "Load and make ready" command.

Stage 8. Slots.

Vaclav Vindushka:

Gushchina Maria:

After match duels: Mira Barinova (from the right, current World Champion in duel shooting, Ladies) versus her former student Elizaveta Shushpanova (both from Russia).

Thanks to all for a really good match!
